Tyler Thomas
1923 Ford "T" Bucket Roadster
Tyler (Paul Kroepfl's grand-son) was the recipient of Paul's '23 "T" Bucket after Paul passed away in 2005. Paul has bought the "T" as an unfinished project from another individual that had started it. The work that was completed was well done. The "T" was about 80% complete and included the interior, a 406 Chevy small block with "Roadster Headers", 350TH transmission and a Ford 9 inch rear end. The body has a single "tall" windshield, in place of the conventional double-decker setup and also contained a full set of "Moon Gauges".
Paul had furnished a set of pictures that was given to him by the seller. These were printed on a sheet of copy paper and later scanned so that we could show them to you. Below are thumbnail shots of the pictures. Topside view (A), Front quarter view (B) and Side View (C). Just click on the thumbnails to see a larger view.
Paul and his grandson Tyler dismantled the "T" so that the brake pedal, master cylinder and brake lines could be installed.
Picture (A) below is of the master cylinder and brake pedal assembly. The brake lines have been ran to the front and rear. The pedal will be removed to weld a tab for the pedal pad. Picture (B) shows the lines completed from the master cylinder to the front disc calipers. Picture (C) is a shot of the Ford 9 inch rear end with the brake lines completed.
After a ton of hours fitting, re-fitting and securing parts, the "T" is really starting to take shape. Paul had the frame powder coated. The rear-end and body was sprayed by fellow club member Jon. An aluminum panel was cut, polished and secured to the firewall. The brakes have been completed and the brake fluid bleed. The transmission and rear-end have been installed along with the engine. The 406ci Chevy engine, loaded with lots of goodies was test ran and dialed in. The small block engine sounds really bitchin as it shouts "P-O-W-E-R" through the chrome "Roadster Headers" and mufflers.
Paul and Tyler spend several hours cleaning and polishing after the new valve covers and air cleaner was installed. Picture A below shows some of the new goodies added to the engine. Picture B is of Paul, Tyler and Misty (Paul's Sitter) posing by the "T".
Tyler has been working on the "T" Project and sent in the following picture showing the interior in place.
Tyler still had his work cut out for him before the "T" hits the pavement, so stay tuned and see how this project turns out.
More pictures of this fine project are in the works, so return soon for another visit.
