n Dennis reported that the balance was $340.23.
n Dennis also paid Jon $30.00 for shop expenses for July and August 07.

Picnic for 2007 ?. –
- The picnic issue has been brought before the members for the past several months. Dale indicated that he would be glad to host the picnic at his place, but would be out of town during the month of June. At the July meeting there was no response given, indicting to me that maybe the members were either unsure or didn’t want a picnic. Tom Otis spoke up and indicated that maybe we should vote on whether or not to have a picnic, but then he indicated that he thought that we should just table the issue for a latter discussion. Another member (I didn’t see who said it) indicated that we should wait for cooler weather…

The picnic issue was brought up again at the August Meeting.. There was no
response from the members indicating a need for a picnic.
It was suggested that maybe the group could get together and eat out.
John Stanford suggested that maybe we could incorporate a road trip with
the outing to go eat. John suggested maybe a road trip to Cottonwood Falls
(80miles) during late September to view the changing of foliage color and then
visit the Emma Chase Café., John also suggested maybe going to Hutchinson to
visit the Salt Mines or the Cosmosphere and
Space Center, and maybe eat at a nice restaurant while in Hutch.
The Group was receptive to the trip/meal combo, so John indicated that he
would try and get more info to pass on during the next few weeks (before the
Sept 15 meeting.

Recap - Club Dues have been reduced from $40.00 to $30.00 per Year
effective July 1 2007. The new dues structure was voted in at the monthly
meeting in May. Members that owe, or if you are unsure you owe should contact
Dennis.
----- Tom asked what the club was doing with the dues money… He thought that we could maybe spend it on something else other than a picnic, maybe club jackets., etc. A copy of the May meeting minutes were provided and explained that the dues were set by the group at the May meeting to cover club expenses, plus a reserve of ten dollars per member to cover any unexpected expenses. The amount came to $360.00 per year for 13 members, which came out to 27.69 per member. Tom suggested at the May meeting that the dues be rounded up to 30.00 per member.

1 - There was no new business other that the Road Trip / Meal combo discussed as indicated above.

---- Jeff indicated that the Andover O’Rielly’s Auto parts were having snacks this afternoon/evening (8/18/07) and that the September listing did not include the WSU Show and Shine on 9/30/07 put on by the Law Enforcement Organization.
