Treasurers Report: Carried forward from June 2008 - Dennis was out of town.

Note: The club owes Jon $30.00 *$15.00 for May 2008 and $15.00 for June 2008.
Jon elected not to take money. He said that he felt due to his illness and the fact that the club had not
been meeting or working on anyones’ car but his, it would be unfair to the other members.

New Business –
(1) Dues: Are they really needed?
John S. made a motion that the current club due structure be discontinued.
The topic was discussed among the members present and all was in agreement that the dues should be discontinued. Per previous conversations with Glenn H. and Buddy B., both had indicated that they were OK with doing away with the dues. This would bring the member count to “7” , enough to pass the resolution and vote to discontinue the Dues. Effective per this meeting, NO DUES ARE DUE FOR July 2008- June 2009.
(2) What do we do with the current balance ?
The members present discussed this issue and the following suggestions were made:
a. Purchase “10” Car plaques (approx: 300.00) and place the balance back in the “Kitty”. The funds received from selling the plaques to new or current members would go back into the “Kitty”. The “Kitty would be maintained by the “Club President”
b. Split the funds equally among the members who had paid their 2007/2008 dues.
c. Purchase shop equipment that could be used by the members.
d. One member suggested that John S. use the funds for the web site. John declined, saying that he would supply the web site for free.
The members attending suggested that before a final decision be made, that we should present the above suggestions to the members that missed the 7/19/08 meeting.
(3) Club Membership?
It was suggested by John S. that any new member would have to be approved by the current membership and would have to purchase a “Rusty Nuts Car Plaque” in order to become a “Rusty Nuts Car Club” member. For current prices, contact John S.
Also suggested was that if a member leaves the club, his or her car plaque would be purchased by the club. One suggestion was 50% of new cost, another was 75% of new cost. This issue will be tabled for the next meeting.
