Jeff acquired two 1949 Ford pickups. One is F1 (1/2 Ton, 6-1/2 FT Bed) and the other is a F2 ( 3/4Ton, 8 FT Bed).

Picture 1 is a shot of Jeff with the F2.

Picture 2 is a front quarter shot of the F1.

Picture 3 is the Bed of the F1.

Picture 4 is a side shot of the F2.

Between the two trucks, Jeff figures he will be able to build one nice little pickup. He is going to use the frame from the F1 for his foundation.

He plans to put a Mustang II R&R up front, with a Ford 9-inch in the rear.  The rear axles will be re-dilled for a Chevy 4-3/4 bolt pattern, with matching rotors up front.

Picture 6- View of the Mustang II R&R unit installed and tack welded in place.

Picture 7- When the wheels are placed on the hubs, the front end will really be low. Jeff estimates that the truck will set 7 inches lower than stock height.

Picture 8.- Here Jeff and Dale work on the rear springs. The spring pads on the rear end will be placed under the axles, which will lower the rear stance of the truck.  At this point the guys are not sure, but they may move the spring front mounting pads on the frame

Picture 9- Here's a shot of the chassis from the rear with the Ford 9-inch in place.

Picture 10- Jeff plans on placing a Ford 302ci engine e/w a C4 automatic transmission in his little '49.

Picture 11- The pickup cab will need a little TLC before it is ready to be placed back on the frame.

Picture 12 - Here's the SBF-302 in its new home.  The engine was originally place too far back, and the firewall was cut out, but after a re-evaluation, the engine was moved forward and the firewall repaired.

Picture 13- The floor over the transmission is being fabricated in this shot.

Picture 14 - The Steering column has new mounting brackets, and is now stationary.

Picture 15 - The original radiator shroud is in place. If it will bolt up to the new Walker, it should do the job.

7/15/09 Update.........

Jeff is still busy working on his little Ford PU. Things are really coming together.

After getting most of the pieces to fit together Jeff decided that it was time to really get serious about the body work.

Jeff and Dale dismantled the truck and delivered it to a medium blaster to have the sheet metal and the frame blasted and primered.
